What is the Pirate King LARP Set?
The Pirate King LARP Set is a three-piece LARP and cosplay costume built around a dark-red wool pirate coat, worn over a blue cotton gambeson and finished with a decorated wool sash. Trousers and a buffalo leather belt can be added. It suits pirate, captain and privateer characters at LARP events, Renaissance Faires and fantasy events.
Piecing a captain look together one item at a time is how most people end up with parts that don't quite match. This set gives you the three that carry the look in one go, cut to sit together, designed in-house to be worn at events rather than photographed once. The dark-red coat is the piece people notice first, with gold-toned buttons, woven braiding and structured shoulders that give it a tailored shape.
The gambeson underneath is a lightweight blue cotton blend, thin enough to move in and wear all day, worn under the coat or on its own. It is light padding for comfort and layering, not battle armour. The sash is a wool blend with hemmed edges and removable metal trinket detail, worn at the waist under a belt, or draped for a second layer. None of it is fixed to one look, so you can leave the coat open over a different shirt, swap the sash, or wear the pieces with kit you already own.
Add trousers if you want the full silhouette. Hero and Viking styles give a baggy, laced medieval line, and Straight Leg is closer to a plain trouser. A black buffalo leather belt finishes the waist. Boots are not included. The costume pieces are one size and cut to layer without bunching at the shoulders, and each piece is sold separately if you would rather build the look one at a time.

Yes. The costume pieces are one size, cut from non-stretch materials with extra room for movement. The coat measures 56 inches (143 cm) in length with an adjustable 48-inch chest, and the gambeson is 35 inches long with a 46-inch chest. If you have a question about measurements before ordering, send the details over and we will check the fit against the pieces for you.
Can I wear the pieces over armour or with kit I already own?
Yes. The coat and gambeson layer over a tunic or light armour without pinning your arms, and the sash ties at the waist or across the shoulder. Each piece works on its own, so you can wear the full set or add single pieces to fill a gap in existing kit.
What's included, and what's optional?
The set includes three pieces: the dark-red wool coat, the blue cotton gambeson, and the decorated wool sash. Trousers (Hero, Viking or Straight Leg) and a black buffalo leather belt can be added at checkout. Boots are not included. Every piece is also sold on its own.
Is the gambeson protective?
It is a lightweight padded tunic made for comfort and layering, not steel-weapon armour. It adds shape and warmth under the coat and is easy to wear all day. If you need protection for combat, layer it under dedicated armour rather than relying on the gambeson alone.
How do I care for the pieces?
Care depends on the piece. The coat is dry clean only. The gambeson is machine wash cold. The sash is machine wash cold once you have removed the metal trinkets. None of the fabric pieces should be tumble dried. Check the label on each piece before its first wash.

Delivery Schedule
Your order will be processed on the same day of order. We aim to despatch all orders the by next working day. International orders are generally received in under 12 working days.
You must inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.
Returns Policy
You are entitled to cancel your order and return the goods within 14 working days for a full refund. Postage paid will not be refunded. Do this by contacting us by email or telephone and quoting the order number supplied to you. Your refund will be paid within 30 days. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value. This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.
Any goods returned should be in original condition.
