Each piece is built to sit cleanly over tunics, gambesons, and armour.

      Hoods and mantles for every character type

      A hood does more work than most players give it credit for. It frames the face in character, adds a layer of warmth during evening encounters, and pulls a layered kit together visually. At Chows Emporium, hoods and mantles are designed to function as well as they look, which means they sit properly over armour, do not slip during combat, and hold their shape after a full weekend in the field.

      The range includes snood hoods, leather hoods, wool hoods, mohair hoods, fur mantles, shoulder mantles, and gambeson hoods. Options are available in a range of colours including brown, black, and green, with fur trim variations for characters who need a richer look.

      Layering guide

      Hoods in this range are designed to sit over tunics, gambesons, and armour pieces and under a cloak where needed. A snood hood worn under a hooded cloak adds warmth and depth to a build without bulk. Leather hoods pair naturally with the faux leather pieces in our LARP leather armour and LARP coats, jackets and waistcoats ranges.       Character suitability

      Snood hoods and scarf hoods suit mage, wizard, and alchemist builds. Leather hoods are a core piece for rogue, barbarian, and warrior characters.
